Union Pacific is continually working to improve customer service, provide accurate billing, and add value for our customers. To support these goals, we are implementing a new process for resolving DEMURRAGE balances effective November 1, 2007.
What’s Changed?
Beginning on November 1, 2007, you will be contacted by our Union Pacific Call Center regarding any past due and undisputed demurrage. This includes bills from both our previous demurrage system and the new Chargeable Events System. The Call Center will be able to help you resolve any outstanding invoices in a timely manner, thus helping your accounts payable balances to be current. We are aware of the challenges that come with reconciling very old invoices. Our goal is to help you get caught up and then stay caught up. Specifically, the Call Center will be able to answer billing questions, provide invoice copies, explain our dispute process and documentation requirements, resolve unapplied cash issues, and ultimately be a resource for you to effectively manage your demurrage. What Hasn’t Changed?
Your Union Pacific Sales Representative will continue to be available for any questions or concerns you may have. While your primary point of contact for demurrage accounts is changing to the Call Center, your Sales Representative will be able to assist with other service needs. We are hopeful that this process will enable your Sales Representative to spend more time working with you on new opportunities and ensuring that we provide you the best service possible.
The address to which you remit payment will remain unchanged. This address is listed on your invoices. The Call Center can also provide your remittance address if needed.
